The verdict was emphatic. On 26 February, Justice James Ogebe and his four colleagues on the Presidential Election Tribunal in Abuja voted 5-0 to dismiss the petitions brought by the two main losing candidates in the 2007 presidential election. Their verdict was reached after a four month hearing and the admission of a mountain of evidence, claims and counter-claims.
