Lying big, often

The Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front approaches its annual congress in better shape than a year ago and owing much to Jonathan Moyo’s tactical thinking. He will probably be rewarded with a coveted seat in the Politburo. His readmission to ZANU-PF in late 2009 was seen then as a desperate measure by a demoralised party. But Moyo attached himself to the camp of Defence Minister Emmerson Mnangagwa, devising a strategy that first boosted Mnangagwa’s position before being adopted to revitalise the whole party.
