The appointment of Zuma's daughter to a key ministry raises questions about nepotism, again

Public Protector Thuli Madonsela still has an open file on the funding of President Jacob Zuma's private homestead, Nkandla (AC Vol 55 No 6). Now, she is again being asked to investigate one of the Zuma clan, this time his youngest daughter, Thuthukile Zuma, 25, in her new role as Chief of Staff at the Department of Telecommunications and Postal Services. The post, which pulls in a salary of 1 million rand a year (US$93,000), was not advertised.
