Asian builders get close to Inga billions

The Kinshasa government plans to begin discussions in November with three consortiums that are interested in the construction of a third hydroelectric dam capable of producing several thousand megawatts at Inga. According to Noël Vika di Panzu, a member of the Comité de Pilotage du Projet Inga, the contracts should total US$9 billion: $6 bn. for the dam and $3 bn. for the associated transmission lines.
