17 May 1989: Incorporation of Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Limited. NLNG Board with representatives from the state-owned Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Shell Gas BV, ENI International (formerly Agip Oil), Total (formerly Elf-Aquitaine). The NLNG Board appointed a team of technical advisors consisting of consultants (mostly ex-Shell employees) recommended by Shell.
