The opposition is finding unity elusive while the President is already on the campaign trail ahead of the next elections

In the wake of the recent brutal attacks by security forces on protestors in Kampala, pundits ponder why the formidable mass movement of Bobi Wine and Kizza Besigye's Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) cannot join forces. Opposition leaders have announced their intention to unite behind a single candidate to contest the 2021 presidential elections, but it is easier said than done. Meanwhile, President Yoweri Museveni has had no new ideas about who should succeed him.
