Latest Vaz plot fails

President José Mário Vaz's latest attempt to dismiss a government, four weeks before the presidential elections, now due on 24 November, collapsed in ignominy after the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) finally bared its teeth. Vaz used the death of a Partido da Renovação Social (PRS) activist on 26 October as a pretext to sack Prime Minister Aristides Gomes and his government two days later.
