Kourouma – from activist to strategist

In 2007, a young medical doctor marched against a colonel-putschist who had promoted himself to the rank of general. Lansana Conté’s inept and corrupt regime left Guineans so desperate that they were prepared to die for change. He marched with Rabiatou Sérah Diallo and Ibrahima Fofana, two trade union leaders who had managed to organise the first general strikes in Guinea’s history.
