Crossing the river

Since March, fighting has raged between rebels and troops in Senegal's southern Casamance province, driving more than 10,000 refugees across the border. Rebel fighters crossed too: their leader, Salif Sadio, slipped over to evade capture by Guinea Bissau and Senegalese commandos. President Abdoulaye Wade wants to know where Sadio is ­ and Gambia's President Yahya Jammeh will not say.
