Careful what you wear

After a film of a woman screaming in pain as Khartoum policemen whipped her for wearing trousers had gone around the world on the internet, the Government of Southern Sudan was quick to rein in its police who were beating ‘immodestly’ dressed females.These are not the image that GOSS wants to give foreign journalists in Juba for the 9 January independence referendum nor does it want to be bracketed with the Islamist regime in Khartoum. It also wants to show referendum security is under control.
