Power struggle

Doubts about President Michael Sata’s health have heightened the power struggle in the governing Patriotic Front. The party’s focus is to ensure that Sata completes his term in office, however incapacitated, but the succession race is intensifying and Sata's son Mulenga Sata, who is also Mayor of Lusaka, the new PF Secretary General (SG), Edgar Lungu, and Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili are all manoeuvring for position.
