Julius Maada Bio has promised much on education, and the anti-corruption bandwagon is already rolling

Determined to make his mark early, President Julius Maada Bio has promised a revolution in transport, in education and in tackling corruption. As well as promising a US$1.3 billion bridge to link Freetown to Lungi international airport, he is bent on free education for all. On 20 August, he launched the programme, boasting, 'When I promised free and quality education my opponents said it was a political gimmick. But today, I have proven them wrong.'
