Minority report

The government's claims that it was defending itself against a coup attempt when war broke out in December 2013 have been dismissed in two reports released by the African Union on 27 October. Their findings are likely to undermine further the credibility of President Salva Kiir Mayardit's government, just as it announces a security deal in the capital with rebel forces led by sacked Vice-President Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon.
