Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh was busy in southern Africa during August, following up on his government’s initiatives to increase trade levels and win business deals for state-owned and private Vietnamese companies. The most significant prize so far comes in the form of a joint-venture agreement between Angola’s state-owned Sonangol and state-run PetroVietnam, which will see the two companies collaborate on new exploration and production projects in Angola, Vietnam and beyond.
