The new Thabo Mbeki

Ex-President Thabo Mbeki is again reinventing himself: his latest struggle is against corruption, leading a campaign to recover some of the hundreds of billions of dollars extracted from the continent. Global Financial Integrity, a Washington non-governmental organisation, reckons Africa lost more than US$854 billion between 1970 and 2008, mainly to Western jurisdictions.
