Papa's posthumous politics

As millions mourn his passing, Africa's rumba king Papa Wemba is being claimed by Congo's political rivals

Known to the world as Papa Wemba, Jules Shungu Wembiado Pene Kikumba was buried in Kinshasa on 4 May in the city cemetery, the Nécropole at Nsele. Soon, however, the singer's body is to be transferred to a specially-constructed mausoleum on a site donated by President Joseph Kabila Kabange.
