Promises, promises

United States President Joe Biden's initial African policy plans are starting with a programme inherited from President Donald Trump called Prosper Africa. The Biden White House wants to 'reinvigorate Prosper Africa as the centrepiece of US economic and commercial engagement with Africa,' said Travis Adkins, deputy assistant administrator for Africa at the US Agency for International Development (USAID) at a US-Africa Business Summit last week, pledging US$2.5 billion in trade and investment.
