The potential to attract investment will be tested in the coming weeks as Finance Minister Alamine Ousmane Mey, 49, assisted by Société Générale and Standard Chartered Bank, seeks what would be the country's first sovereign Eurobond. That would be worth 750 billion CFA francs (US$1.5 bn.).
