Assoumani's way

Comoros's tenuous democracy appears under continuing threat as the confrontation between opposition and government after the contentious 24 March re-election victory of President Assoumani Azaly accelerates. The authorities have already arrested Mohamed Soilihi, leader of a self-proclaimed National Transition Council (CNT) of disappointed opposition candidates and accused it of fomenting insurrection.
