Moscow loses arms advantage

Russia stands to lose its position of supplying nearly half of Africa's arms following the sweeping sanctions imposed in the wake of its invasion of Ukraine. Some of its chief clients will have to find alternative suppliers, or turn to the parallel market to ensure the continued provision, at a minimum, of parts and services necessary if a large proportion of their military hardware is not to be rendered useless.
