Mugabe's people in the provinces

Soldiers and politicians may grumble but President Robert Mugabe and his apparatchiks maintain a wrestler's grip on the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front's organisation in all ten provinces. As in 2000 and 2002, Mugabe is backed by the 'war veterans' and by ZANU-PF's Youth League and Women's League. He can count on the 'Young Turks' led by Jabulani Sibanda.
