Trebles all round

It was no coincidence that the sudden decision by MPs last week to support a long-prepared amendment barring Kenya’s Anti-Corruption Commission from investigating cases prior to May 2003 followed the leaking of a private report describing how the Moi family and their associates had stolen more than US$2 billion of state revenues (AC Vol 48 No 18). The report detailed the roles of Gideon and Philip Moi and international facilitators such as Swiss-based Gabriel Katri in the diversion of state assets overseas.
