Omer needs friends

The coming government reshuffle could bring back two pariahs: Hassan Abdullah el Turabi’s faction and former security chief Salah Mohamed Abdullah ‘Gosh’, who was arrested last November but freed on 10 July. Turabi’s Popular Congress Party denies any rapprochement but was very prominent on 16 August in a day of solidarity with Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood that united all Sudan’s Islamist factions.
