Abuja’s hoteliers are among the most obvious beneficiaries of General SaniAbacha’ sdemiseon8June.Sincethen,theinlandcapital’ s hotels and guest houses have been full of would-be advisors, influence- pedlars, contract-seekers and curious journalists. While the new order doesn’t joke with its security, the oppressive surveillance overkill has been lifted and discussions in the capital’s numerous restaurants and bars have returned to their previous exuberant level.
