Edmonds in Ethiopia

Controversial Zimbabwean mining entrepreneurs Andrew Groves and Phil Edmonds have embarked on a new project in Ethiopia to construct a bottling plant 45 kilometres north of Addis Ababa. The venture comes as many of their other projects in Africa are struggling. Their London and Nairobi-listed firm Atlas Development, formerly Africa Oilfields Logistics Ltd, bought Ethiopian bottling company East Africa Packaging Holdings in November, announcing that Atlas was diversifying away from oil and gas logistics due to poor market conditions. This was followed in December by the closure of its operations in Kenya.
