The new Front Patriotique Rwandais government is in danger of squandering the goodwill it had won after its military defeat of those forces, such as the Interahamwé , responsible for the massacre of at least 500,000 people this year. Most importantly, these criticisms do not just come from loyalists to the former government and Western aid workers, but also from political groupings which made up the civilian Opposition to President Juvénal Habyarimana. Today these parties are in government alongside the FPR but some of their supporters overseas are speaking out against the new government failure to broaden its composition. Particularly vociferous are the Parti social Démocrate representative in Belgium. Joseph Ndahimana, and Hildebrand Kayibanda, son of the late President Grégoire Kayibanda and a member of the Mouvement Démocratique Républicain of Premier Faustin Twagiramungu, of whom he is also a brother-in-law. The government is taking the matter seriously.
