Eritrea

Warriors by proxy

With Somalia looking more settled, Ethiopia has been looking towards Eritrea, which it sees as the regional spoiler. On 8 June, Addis Ababa wrote to the United Nations Security Council President calling for Chapter VII sanctions against Eritrea, in order to restore the integrity of the Algiers Agreement that ended the border war in June 2000. The letter claims that Eritrea has moved units from eight divisions and two brigades into the supposedly demilitarised Transitional Security Zone established in Algiers.
