Kasongo v CAMEC

Former England cricketer Phil Edmonds’s roller-coaster ride in Africa is going up again after a 19 September court ruling in Kinshasa recognising the legality of his Central African Mining and Exploration Company’s mining licences. After CAMEC, which is managed by Edmonds and associate Andrew Groves, announced the news, its share price rose 28.6% to 31.5 pence (63 US cents) on London’s Alternative Investment Market. CAMEC’s shares had lost half their value since 29 August, when the Congolese authorities questioned the legality of its licences.
