Reverses in Jonglei

The conflict in Jonglei looks set to intensify despite the Juba government offering rebels an amnesty. The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) reports heavy fighting in several areas. It halted its protection for food convoys after five Indian peacekeepers and seven civilians were killed near Gurmuruk, Pibor County, on 9 April.
