The pressure would not let up. Human Rights Watch, Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General Karin Landgren and a chorus of domestic voices clamoured for President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf to take action against corruption. Close to the tenth anniversary of the signing of the agreement that brought peace to the country, the President’s son, Robert Alvin Sirleaf, resigned as head of the National Oil Company of Liberia and as Senior Advisor to the President.
