Despite the travails in Zambia's relations with China and fears that changes in mining regulation and taxation would scare off Asian companies, the flow of investment continues. Officials of the Chinese-owned Chambishi Copper Smelter announced in April that CCS was embarking on a programme to double production of copper blister from its current rate of 150,000 tonnes per year.
