Museveni's pipeline dream

Confusion still reigns over the route of Uganda's oil pipeline, which is essential to begin production and export. Having signed a deal in August with President Uhuru Kenyatta for a pipeline via Kenya, Uganda's Energy Ministry announced on 13 October that a new memorandum of understanding had been signed with Tanzania and French company Total SA. This will assess the viability of an alternative route to Tanga port, in Tanzania, skipping Kenya.
