New Year election blues

The three main parties all have their candidates, with Vice-President Atiku Abubakar the last to take a running mate in the shape of former Anambra State Deputy Governor, Okechukwu Ude. It is a selection that seems certain to raise tensions in the region, as Ude is a supporter of controversial power broker Chris Uba, who is now estranged from his brother Andy Uba, formerly a close aide to President Olusegun Obasanjo and now running for state governor.
