Is Rawlings the back-seat driver?

The doings and sayings of former President Jerry John Rawlings always fascinate the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) as well as journalists. Rawlings likes nothing better than to rattle their collective cages using his 'boom' speeches - recently by demanding the sacking of senior military and security officials - to attack abuse by business elements to whom he objects.
