The MDC line-up

With control of the Prime Minister's office (Morgan Tsvangirai) and Finance Ministry (Tendai Biti), the Movement for Democratic Change has been handed the tough issues of food, jobs and land. If his legal obstacles are cleared, Roy Leslie Bennett, as Deputy Minister of Agriculture, could help revive farming and give confidence to the white community from which he hails. He would also have a say on the land issue, the official reason why foreign governments have imposed sanctions on Robert Mugabe's regime. Moreover, he handles his party's finances.
