Elections and electioneering stall deals

The Essar deal, along with many others, is set to languish until after the polls

The early April visit of India's Steel Minister, Beni Prasad Verma, scarcely made headlines in Zimbabwe's media. With elections on the horizon, Zimbabwe is more obsessed than ever by purely political considerations. Indian investors are having difficulties with this, especially in view of the apparently stalled Essar New Zimbabwe Steel US$750 million refurbishment.
