National Assembly Speaker Kang Chang-hee made his first trip to Africa in July and spent 13 days in Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania. In Dar es Salaam, the government of President Jakaya Kikwete agreed to open an embassy in Seoul. Construction projects were the main topic in Nairobi, where Kang also met President Uhuru Kenyatta, now an International Criminal Court indictee.
