Vicente and China Sonangol

A case brought against Vice-President Manuel Vicente accuses him of breaking the law through his continuing directorship at China Sonangol

Angola's Vice-President Manuel Domingos Vicente is facing demands for his impeachment, following revelations that he secretly renewed his official position on the board of China Sonangol International Holding, a Chinese-owned company with extensive interests in Angola. In the complaint filed on 8 August, journalist and human rights activist Rafael Marques de Morais accused Vicente of breaking Angolan law by engaging in business activities that conflict with his role as a senior government official.
