On South Africa's Reconciliation Day on 16 December, President Jacob Zuma's speech in the North-West Province was brought to a halt when strong wind and heavy rain blew away the marquee where he was speaking. To his opponents it was a hopeful omen of a quick end to his presidency during 2017. Yet underestimating the President has cost many of his enemies dear.
