Zuma goes down fighting

The ANC reaches crunch point in the Zexit talks as the State President goes to the wire trying to ease the terms for his departure

The African National Congress has decided to remove President Jacob Zuma from office after a tenure dogged by corruption, scandal and economic stagnation. The dramatic decision came in the early hours of 13 February after a 13-hour meeting of the ANC's 107-member National Executive Committee (NEC) which was punctuated by the arrival of a blue-light motorcade led by ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa and ANC Secretary-General Ace Magashule, until recently a Zuma loyalist.
