Whose cure is it anyway?

Industrialised countries are defending funding research to find a vaccine for Covid-19 out of Official Development Assistance funds against a possible challenge from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), according to a report in Oslo's Development Today newsletter. Wealthy countries have pledged US$765 million so far to the Nordic country-led Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations, which aims to raise $2 billion towards the hunt for a vaccine. CEPI is funding research by eight separate consortia around the world.
