A purge is coming, in preparation for the 2005 elections and, one day, the departure of President Robert Mugabe. The President's faction of his Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front party has already scuppered the succession hopes of bookies' favourite Emmerson Mnangagwa. The post of Second Vice-President will go to Joyce Mujuru ('Teurai Ropa' - Spill Blood), who has been nominated with Mugabe's approval.
