Constitution's narrow escape

The constitutional court in Bangui ruled on 23 September that the steps President Faustin Archange Touadéra and parliament had taken towards a new constitution were null and void. This reduces the chances of the President getting his desired third term of office, something his Russian advisors also want (AC Vol 63 No 19).
