Disclosure costs Maputo

The London High Court judge presiding over the civil case brought by Mozambique against Credit Suisse bank and the naval contractor Privinvest in January 2020 says that he will strike out Mozambique's claim if it fails to comply with the 'basic essentials' for a fair trial. Maputo has not given the court key documents from its secret intelligence service or the office of the president. On 3 March, Justice Robin Knowles said that his declaration that Mozambique was 'not complying with its disclosure duties' was a 'really serious matter'.
