Genocide case tests the UN system

Ramaphosa is reaping political dividends by taking on the Netanyahu government at the Hague

Whether South Africa has made a plausible case to prove Israel has violated the genocide convention with its bombardment of Gaza is likely to be decided at the International Court of Justice in the Hague (ICJ) by the end of January. It will be a high bar to prove that Israel has breached the convention and has done so with 'the intent to destroy in whole and in part, a national, ethnical or religious group'.
