Blocking oppositionist Kamto, President Biya clears the field

The 92-year-old President has removed all serious competition in the October election which looks a foregone conclusion 

With the cancellation of the candidacy of Maurice Kamto by the electoral commission Elecam, president Paul Biya removed all doubt he would allow any challenge to his re-election in the general election due on 12 October. And Team Biya is also determined to stop his own party from considering alternative candidates.
