How the Ghana talks stalled

General Abdulsalami Abubakar appeared to have won the trust of all sides at the peace talks in Ghana. The Nigerian former ruler was on the verge of getting an agreement on a comprehensive peace framework and had set an end-June deadline for proposals for a transitional government.
