The hyperinflation club

On the fringes of an opposition rally just before the election stood a solitary figure holding a placard, his jacket pasted with Z$10 million bearer cheques. With the gallows humour now popular in Zimbabwe, the placard read 'Please help! I am a destitute billionaire.' Zimbabwe has joined that select group of countries whose economies have been destroyed by chronic high inflation.
