Otunnu objects

With only six months before Ugandans go to the polls, opposition parties are mired in disagreement after Olara Otunnu made a bid to undermine attempts to field a unity candidate in the 2011 presidential election. The Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) President, once Foreign Minister under President Milton Obote and United Nations diplomat, told Africa Confidential he was ‘dismayed’ that other parties were backtracking on a commitment to compete only in a free and fair poll.
