Confused response to terror attacks

The spectre of a breakdown in Kenya's national security faces President Uhuru Kenyatta in the wake of terrorist attacks on the north-eastern coast that claimed more than 50 lives. As the country mourned the dead from raids between 15 and 17 June in Mpeketoni, close to the major tourist destination of Lamu Island, evidence of widespread security failings has emerged.
